Using Cable Zip Ties to Make Other Products

Cable zip ties are great products that can be used in a variety of different ways. You can use them to bundle computer wires, keep your tools organized or hold your satellite dish on your roof. However, what are you supposed to do with them once they have outlived their original purpose?

You Can Reopen a Cable Zip Tie

Releasable Zip Ties: Did you know that you can reopen a cable zip tie? All you need to do is run a needle through the square lock to release the tie. Once the tie is open, you can then use the item for whatever you need. It can be used in the garden to keep animals from digging out your flowers or to add a color code to your garden. It is the perfect way for home gardeners to keep their plants safe.

What Happens If You Already Snipped The Tie?

If you have already snipped the cable tie, there is nothing that you can do to make it work like it used to. Fortunately, you can still use a black tie or a tie of any other color to create a jewelry making or weaved masterpiece. You can create small baskets for Easter or perhaps use them to decorate a collar for your pets.

Plastic from a Cable Zip Tie Is Recyclable

If you don’t have a use for old cable zip tie around the home, you can send them off to be recycled. While you may not want to put them in the recycling bin as they are, you can take them to a local recycling center or place them in a plastic bag before putting them in the recycling bin. They old ties will then be sent to a plant where they will be melted down for use in other products.

When you are done with a cable zip tie, do not just throw it out. You should look to open it to use on another product, use it to create something artistic or send it to a local recycling plant. Instead of having an indefinite shelf life in the ground, it can be reused quickly and cheaply.
