Heat shrink tubing protects wires and cables from harsh environments and against liquids such as acids, alkalis, oils, and solvents. Each variety of heat shrink tubing has variable operating temperatures with the average being -70°C to +121°C (-94°F to 249.8°F). Each variety also has a heat shrink ratio with the majority being a 2:1 ratio. This allows the tubing to mold itself to the specific size and shape of the wire, cable or other underlying material—providing and superior, long-lasting level of protection.
